2022 Barbera
Gold Medal Winner (91 pts) – 2024 Foothill Wine Fest
Gold Medal Winner (91 pts) - 2024 Sommelier Challenge
The dark violet color on this vintage contradicts the red fruit aromas on the nose. Barbera as a varietal is known for its bright acidity, and this one does not disappoint in that regard, with notes that include tart cherry, pomegranate and boysenberry. However there is a lingering background of mocha and even a little savory herb that grounds the brighter fruit notes that you taste up front, creating a delicious complexity to this wine. Pair with red sauces, grilled chicken and mushroom dishes.
